Hi, I’m Meklit (muh-kleet), a photographer and director based in New York.

Much of my documentary work focuses on forced displacement while my narrative work is an exploration of girlhood and coming of age.

After earning a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, I became drawn to

Studied Political Science with a focus in International Relations at the University of Pennsylvania.

My primary joys are shooting portraits and human interest pieces. I want to tell stories that are beautiful and relatable in ways that might surprise you.
